Summary Analysis of Pretty Girls A Novel by Karin Slaughter Book*Sense Books

I had no idea that these "summary & analysis" books even existed. I actually bought this because a friend suggested Pretty Girls to me but I wasn't sure how I felt about the content. While it's not something I would typically read, I have to say I now can't wait to read the book. The summary and analysis was perfect for giving me an overview of the book and I feel like I am going into the read with a firm grasp of the who, what, where, when, why and how's. This is really the perfect supplement to a book full of twists and stories within a story.

Summary Analysis of Pretty Girls A Novel by Karin Slaughter Book*Sense Books Reviews

Just be aware this is ONLY a summary and analysis. It is not the book with an analysis at the end. I thought it was the book with extra features. My bad.
A gripping story line and a perfect setting. The story itself will have you absolutely at the edge of your seat. But you can find yourself loosing track of things with so many characters to keep in mind from Julia carroll to Kerry Lascala. This book helps you set it all straight and keep track of everyone. Plus it give you a summarized recap so you can double check what you read. It's a great companion to help you better understand the book itself.
I have read all of Karin Slaughter's Will Trent books, and while not great literature, they have been interesting and fun. I have always enjoyed her characters. Pretty Girls is quite simply awful. I was seriously wondering where the editor was for this one, because the only reason this made it to print is for shock value. I can't say I love violence, but I can certainly tolerate it fine in a novel. In this one it is beyond gratuitous, not to mention the details are disgusting. I can't say I found the characters I was supposed to actually like appealing, not did I find it probable that they would be so blindingly clueless. Or act in such bizarrely superficial ways. Overall this is a dreadful read. Very disappointing. Don't waste your time, life is too short for this one!!
Okay, I haven't actually read this summary. I'm "reviewing" it because I can't imagine why anyone would want or need a summary of this book. Seriously, this is not fine literature or a plot that needs explaining. It's a terrible piece of writing, but it is very easy to follow and understand. Perhaps this book explains the plot holes in the book, in which case I will apologize for my opinion, as that might be worth reading. Well, not really.
Very hard to keep characters apart and remember who is who.
ok book
Like with a lot of suspenseful thrillers, Pretty Girls had more twists and turns than I managed to grasp, especially when the action kept me turning the pages so fast to see what would happen. I'm planning to read it again, but I was really happy to find this summary and analysis so that next time I can keep everybody straight and not miss any of what the author intends for me to see. These summary and analysis books are so great; they remind me of some advice I have heard given to public speakers "Tell them what you're going to tell them, then tell them, then tell them what you told them." I guess the human mind is really like that, and sometimes we need the same material presented in a few ways to grasp the full meaning of it. So although I enjoyed Pretty Girls the first time, now that I have read the full analysis and character list and had a review of the plot points along with a discussion of certain themes and motifs in the novel that sailed right over my head, I am looking forward to enjoying it again with a fuller appreciation.
